Teenage schoolgirl giving birth Video

A shocking video has been released by Leicester NHS Trust showing a teenage schoolgirl giving birth on a school playing field. The video was designed to deliberately “shock” and “provoke” young people as part of a hard hitting campaign by NHS Leicester to reduce the number of teenage pregnancies in the city.

The video is filmed in such a way that it looks like amateur mobile phone footage but ends with a hard hitting message. Tim Rideout, chief executive of NHS Leicester City, told Sky News: “We know this film is hard-hitting, but so are the numbers of under-18s getting pregnant in Leicester. ”The city’s Teenage Pregnancy and Parenthood Partnership has been successful in cutting the numbers of young girls getting pregnant. ”But to make a long-term difference we need more education on safe sex.”

The video was posted onto YouTube and was viewed by more than 70,000 people before being taken off following a flurry of complaints but a version of the video is still available to view, entitled “Teenage Kicks”,  although it comes with the following warning:

“Teenagers filming fights on their camera phones is as old as happy slapping, but this footage from a school in Leicester is pretty shocking by anyone’s standards.”YouTube Preview Image

Despite the numerous protests, the video has attracted some support and praise with one viewer commenting; “I think you lot are beginning to take this problem seriously”. Another said the footage “looks scary” but is “a good idea”.

The trust claimed it decided to take the shock approach after the young people it asked said they wanted something memorable to get the message across.

While there is little doubt the video fulfils that objective, it is likely to be some time before we know whether the project will succeed in reducing pregnancy rates.

Top Tips for committing the Perfect Crime

Does crime pay?

cat-burglar1Well that really depends on 2 things. What you get out of it and whether you get caught. Be honest, we’ve all thought about it from time to time. If only we could commit a crime and get away with it. I’m not talking about the violent stuff here, I can’t condone that in any way, but what about the ‘frauds’ and the ‘scams’, surely they aren’t as bad. After all, your not hurting anyone, are you? I’ll leave that for you to work out but if crime is for you, you need to know how to go about it.

The best reason to commit a crime – PROFIT

Why profit? Well, for starters, because you need motivation to commit a crime, a reason to break the law . There’s no point in committing a crime if your going to get nothing out of it. People commit crimes because they want money and once you realize that money is the best possible motivation, you need a victim.

The Victim

A victim is anybody who suffers because of the crime you commit. The victim is the owner of whatever it is that you took. Now, the crucial thing is to pick your victim carefully. The victim doesn’t even need to be one person, it can be a group of people, a company or even a whole country (I’ll come to that later). The best victims are the ones that you don’t know, so don’t steal off friends and family.

The Crime

Once you have a victim you need to do some actual planning and decide what kind of perfect crime you want to commit. Think carefully because the type of crime you commit will have a bearing on the punishment you may or may not receive if you get caught.

Accomplices’

If there’s anyone else in on the crime, keep them close to you at all times and make sure that they have got as much to lose as you.

What if you get caught?

Deny it and keep denying it until the evidence is so overwhelming that there is only one way out. Run? No, don’t be silly….Sing like a Canary… and let someone else take the fall.

Is there such thing as a perfect crime? One where you can steal from your victim yet even if you get caught there is no punishment, at worst you just offer to pay the money back to your victim. Let me think…I know…

How to avoid internet scams

internet-scamsThere is an epidemic sweeping the world and it’s not Swine Flu. Internet scamming is the latest big thing and it seems we have all either been caught out or know of someone who has. The World Wide Web (WWW) truly is a wonderful creation and allows us to communicate on levels never previously possible. If you have ever “googled” or “twittered” than you will realise just how easy it has become to get your message across to millions of people in the blink of an eye.

But the negative side to this is that “scammers” or “fraudsters” can also use the same tools to send their messages out to millions of unsuspecting and vulnerable targets. Before we get carried away here let’s not jump to the conclusion that everyone out there is trying to rip us off. There are plenty of legit businesses providing a great and honest service, but like anything in life we only tend to read about the bad ones. The crooks have always been there, but they are smarter now and the internet has made their ‘job’ a lot easier.

So how can you avoid being a victim of an internet scam? Unless you don’t buy anything online or in fact don’t use the internet at all, and that includes emails, then you will always be at risk but follow a few simple rules and the chances of being “scammed” will reduce dramatically.

  • Never click on a website link contained in an email, especially from anyone asking you to verify financial information or passwords.
  • Shop on trusted sites displaying site security information and contact details. If there is no address or telephone number keep away.
  • Only make payment through approved methods such as Pay Pal or through the sites shopping cart. Don’t use Western Union or Wire Transfer to send money.
  • If you don’t know the site, ALWAYS check them out first on Google. If there has been any problem in the past, someone will have posted an article about it.
  • Never disclose any personal information until you are sure the site is secure and authentic.

I recently received an email myself from a Chinese electrical wholesaler offering to sell discounted, branded computer equipment and mobile phones. I have no idea where they got my email address from but after a quick bit of digging around, I found several people who had already been “ripped off” and sent money for items they either never received or were fakes. There are loads of websites who publish lists of scam firms, but as quick as one shuts down a new one will emerge. Best advice?…..

Proud to be British

It’s not very often you get to say that but every now and than something happens to restore your faith. Read this and then pass it on to as many people as you can. This is a true story:

Last week I was in  West London attending a conference.

While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer.

I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their uniforms, as they began heading to their gate everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering..

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and  cheered for, it hit me. I’m not alone. I’m not the only red blooded Briton who still loves this country  and supports our troops and their families. Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young  unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work, and enjoy our home without fear or reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers.

He knelt down and said ‘hi,’ the little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her.

The young soldier didn’t look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy.

Suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughters name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Corporal and had been in Afghanistan for 5 months now.

As the mum was explaining how much her daughter, Courtney, missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mum was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second.

Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military looking walkie-talkie.

They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, ‘I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.’

He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a Kiss on the cheek.

He finished by saying ‘Your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.’

The mum at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet he saluted Courtney and her mum.

I was standing no more than 6 feet away as this entire event unfolded.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause..

As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own.

That young soldier in one last act of moment turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices.

At the end of the day, it’s good to be an Englishman.

Britain is P.C mad and compensation crazy

There are two things that are screwing up Britain at the moment (aside from the Government), Political correctness and the compensation culture.

We live in a society where ‘anything goes’ just in case we infringe someone’s human rights. We cannot speak out for fear of being labelled racist. We cannot protect ourselves for fear of being punished. We encourage the creed of greed, where no one is responsible for their own actions because someone else will always pay. Usually the poor old taxpayer, after all when they are handing out money, benefits or compensation, it is only ever going to come from one place, US!

Very occasionally, however, will the light of common sense shine through and a glimmer of hope that the tide may be turning in favour of fairness and decency. Rose Gibb, former chief executive of Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, had been ’sacked’ days before a damning report blamed filthy wards for the death of 90 patients during Britain’s worst ever C.difficile outbreak. She had struck a deal with the trust to go quietly in return for £250,000 compensation.

After an outcry from relatives of  the dead, Health Secretary Alan Johnson blocked the deal but let her keep £75,000 notice pay. Grasping Rose Gibb took the matter to the High Court, but the judge threw out the claim and ordered her to pay costs believed to be in the region of £100,000. A sign, maybe that the culture of rewarding failure may be coming to an end.

12 Yr Old Pupil Knifes Teacher

A boy of 12 knifed his teacher in the arm in front of his terrified classmates.

violence-in-schools1The pupil stormed out of the science lesson after a row, then stabbed the 28yr old teacher when she confronted him. Thank god, the teacher only suffered minor cuts to her elbow, and is now recovering at home, but the story could have been a different one. The boy, who is unnamed has been expelled and has been charged with GBH with intent and having an offensive weapon. But what will his punishment ultimately be? A stint in a young offenders institute, at our expense, whilst we try and rehabilitate him and get him to see the error of his ways. Bullshit!

What the hell was a 12yr old doing with a knife in the first place? I’ve no idea what background he comes from but I am sick of the same old excuses, ‘we can’t control our children, there is nothing we can do.’ The lad is 12 for christ sake, how hard is it to control a 12 yr old child. And we need to stop treating these vermin like children. The day they decide to walk out the front door with a knife (and I’m damn sure it isn’t to butter their toast at school) then they have stopped acting like children, so they should be punished like adults. They know what they are doing.

A few years ago you would have read a story like this in pure disbelief, nowadays incidents such as this one barely get a second glance. This is the society we now live in, one of political correctness and tolerance, where there is no fear of punishment and no respect. But it has to change.

At the risk of sounding old, it wasn’t like this when I was a kid. I feared authority and I respected my elders. And now as a father of 3 young children, aged between 15 and 5, they are growing up the same way. Quite frankly, I don’t give a damn about the do gooders who try and tell us how we should bring up our kids, or a government who tells us we can’t discipline them if they step out of line, I am going to do it my way because they are my children, I am responsible for them and I have self respect!
