Free Sony Ericsson T18 & R320 Laptop Hoax/Scam

Last year I read about an extremely well distributed email hoax that was supposedly offering forwarders of the message a free laptop from Sony Ericsson.

Looks like the hoax is back again but this time in an enhanced and graphical format -

Or, alternatively, you may receive the text based version which is much like previous renditions -

Take a closer look and you will quickly realise why the new emails are just as much of a hoax as the previous ones!

Firstly, the email address hasn’t changed and still says it is from an Anna Swelung. If you check with Sony Ericsson they will tell you that Anna Swelung doesn’t even work for them.

Secondly, if you Google for the T18 or R320 you will find that they are not laptops, they are mobile phones!

Finally, the very fact that the message asks you to forward it onto your friends like a chain letter should be a red flag as this is a very common part of email hoaxes.
